A Day in Belogradchik

The Belogradchik Rocks" spread over a strip 3 km wide and 17-18 km long. Many of the formations have been given names such as " The Mushroom", "The School Girl", "The Bear". There are also legends associated with some of them.

This one is supposedly a horseman and horse. he fell in love and impregnated a beautiful nun. As the villagers heard a baby cry in the monastery they persued the rider and he, the nun&baby as well as the villagerser all turned into stone .
